CANOA

Canoa is a centerpiece made of blown, beaten glass. Every work by Tobia Scarpa and Ludovica Diaz De Santillana evokes a canoe. Clad in thin glass in tones of Crystal, Aquamarine and shaded pink Alexandrite. Its translucent appearance is the result of the skill and hard work of the master glassblowers, who skilfully grind the glass to lend it a unique slightly slubbed texture.

Shapes with undulating edges stretch upwards from a solid blown glass base. The transparencies are given substance by the lines and marks of the grinding wheels used by Venini’s master glass makers.
